Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison recommendation letters
These documents have never been published before their release on fretna.org, and they detail two letters of recommendation from U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison regarding the admission of two of her former staff members to the University of Texas MBA Program. Both were admitted for Fall 2007 semester.
These documents help illustrate the level of redaction that has been a hallmark of my time submitting open records requests at the University of Texas. Much of the information in these documents has been redacted per the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act in an effort to keep absolutely anonymous the two students in question.
But as these documents show, when it comes to getting into the most competitive business school in the state of Texas, it helps to have friends in high places.
